New Scarves

Hi All,

I've been frantically knitting over recent months to get the scarves ready for the cold weather (which seems to have arrived early!)...but finally they're ready, just been playing around with the photography, what do you think?!!?

EVERYTHING MUST GO!

Not posted in a long time, and for a very good reason!  At the moment I'm just finishing off my brand new textiles ranges that will be ready to launch with my completely re-branded business in the New Year, but before then ALL, yes ALL of my hand-made jewellery must go!!!!!!!

Once the new site is up and running there'll be no jewellery available at all, so if you want something then get onto the Lucy's Designs Facebook Page and grab it now!  Many items have been reduced, and I also have wholesale prices available if anyone wants to buy a bundle to sell on themselves.

It's going quick so get shopping!!!!

Chunky Gemstone Rings

A recent new addition to my craft fair table, and one that I'm really excited about, is a selection of fab chunky gemstone rings.  Each ring measures 25mm across so they really are statement pieces!!  They'll be added to Lucy's Designsshortly but for now you can view them here on Facebook.

On a side note I appear to have ended up with a random cabochon that I didn't order and I don't know what it is, so if anyone can name the red gemstone below it'd be much appreciated!!!!

A Little Something For You Textile People..!

I've been selling these little badges at fairs for a while now and they've gone down so well with people doing textiles and fashion degrees that I decided to add them to the site!!  The little sewing machines (available in red, grey, light brown and cream) and tailor's dummies are £3.00 and the scissors £2.50, available at Lucy's Designs Pocket Money Page .

ALL NEW LUCY'S DESIGNS!!

It's been many many months but I'm so pleased to finally re-launch Lucy's Designs with brand new products and a brand new website!!!

Months of hard work and photography from my wonderful other half have finally come together and the site is ready for use.  The biggest change is that the site now has a Shopping Basket feature, enabling you all to order and pay for products directly via PayPal,  rather than emailing me and arranging payments.  Come on you impulse buyers!!!! ;-)

Please head over to the new Lucy's Designs and take a look around, and as always your feedback is more than welcome!

New Style Brooches and Hairclips

Back again, this time with some new style brooches and hairclips!

I loved the last style of brooch that I made as the layers made them really nice and chunky but I wasn't 100% happy with how they age, so this is the new style!  It's much neater and holds the floral shape in place effortlessly so I'm really pleased with them.

I've uploaded a few piccies to Facebook and they'll be appearing on Lucy's Designs site tonight.  This is just a small selection, they're available in all of the fabrics I use for my bags so if there's something specific you want just shout up!!

Each piece measures approximately 4.5" across with a feature button in the middle (as found in Grandma's button tin!).  Brooches are £4.50 each, and Hairclips are £5.00.

Handmade Revolution, Sheffield Workstation

Having been unusually unorganised I'm pleased to say I've finally got round to booking into the Handmade Market at Sheffield Workstation on March 6th,  organised by Handmade Revolution .  Following their own experiences of craft and gift fairs, Patsy and Tasha set up Handmade Revolution to provide an outlet for unique, top-quality hand-made goods, designed and made by the stall holders themselves.  This promises to be a really great day full of inspirational goods and hopefully a lot of shopping so make sure you get yourselves there!!!!!

Vintage Brooches

For the first time in a long time I've got some fairs coming up where I'll be selling my jewellery rather than my bags, so have spent the past few days topping up my stock to make sure I still have enough!!  Lots of new bracelets and necklaces but I'm really excited about these little vintage brooches, hoping they'll go down well at my fairs!  They each measure 25x18mm, are either silver or gold plated and are just £3.50 each!.  We'll be uploading the pics to my website asap but for now you can view them all on my Facebook page, Lucy's Handmade Designs

Happy New Year

Only 14 days late in saying it, but it's the thought that counts right!!   Hope you all  had a fabulous Christmas and New Year and are now raring to go with new ideas for 2010!

2010 will definitely be bring some new ideas to Lucy's Designs, and whilst I'll still be working on my bags I hope to be able to branch out a little more and have a go at all those things I've wanted to try but not got around to.

Many moons ago (listen to me, I turned 24 yesterday and already I'm speaking as though I'm ancient!) I used to make greetings cards and tags, a little hobby that developed from my love of Brushos, so I'm really wanting to get back into that, it's been far too long since my room was filled with dyes and dirty paintbrushes!!  I sat down earlier and had a little play with some collaging to refresh my memory, thinking it would be like riding a bike..couldn't have been more wrong!  Was fun to have a play but I think I need to stick to my painting!

These hearts were done with watercolours and - to me - are just nowhere near as pleasing as the vividness you get from Brushos, these are too muted for my liking.  I think I'm just far too OCD for collage, I attempt to be random by putting things at angles and not lining everything up, but I promise you you'll never met a person who organises their random as much as I do!

Lucy's Designs Does Devon...

Very excited!  Thanks to the lovely Helen at Cove Garden Nursery a batch of my fabric brooches winged their way to Devon last week, which hopefully in the New Year will be joined by some of my bags!  You can check out the nursery online at Cove Garden Nursery, where you'll also find me and some other crafters featured on the Blog.

Must say thank you very much to Helen for a great opportunity!

P.S.  Don't forget to get in your last minute shopping orders if you want them posting before Christmas!

Fabric Flower Brooches

Finally found a few minutes to update, must do this more often!

Thanks to the fabulous people at Artsmix for two great events last week - nothing but hand-made goods available, stunning venue, really can't ask for more!  I also had a really lovely night at the Rams Head in Disley - very Christmassy!

Thought it was about time I posted a piccy of the brooches I do, I really wanted to have things on my stands that could be bought as a "little something" and actually they've proved to be popular.  Each brooch has a different button from the button box making each one slightly different, and they're available in all of the fabrics used for my bags, plus a few more!  Brooches are £4.50 each, drop me an email if you've still got stockings to fill!

Artsmix* Leeds, December 6th

Firstly apologies for the lack of updates, what with flu, graduation and fairs there's not been enough hours in the day!

Just a quick update as to where I'll be this week, you'll find me at the Rams Head in Disley on Friday night (strictly business of course!) and a fabulous Christmas market at The Loft in Leeds on Sunday.  This is a fabulous modern venue and promises to be a great day!!!

Also very excited to say I've been chosen to take my work to an exclusive shopping night at the Loft tomorrow evening, lots of invite-only guests from the industry so a good networking opportunity me thinks!

Here's the details of The Loft markets if any of you can come along  http://www.artsmix.co.uk/

Silver Rings

Hidden away on the Portfolio page of http://www.lucys-designs.co.uk/ you'll find this image of my rings, thought it was time to bring them out!!!

Those that know me will know I'm something of an art history geek, and when all things Rococo took over me this is what was produced!  They're all hand-made by me and I still make them to order (and to most designs) so feel free to drop me a line for any more info on them, my piercing saw is starting to feel a little lonely!!

New Bags...

A couple of pics of my latest bags...the girly pink one's been really popular but I just love the scarlet red feathers, nice and conspicuous!!!  Very soon I'll be putting up the fabric brooches too, very popular with us button-lovers!!

This, along with all my other items is available from my web site http://www.lucys-designs.co.uk/. If there's something you want making but you don't see it on the site, then please contact me and I'll be more than happy to help.
