Vintage Brooches

For the first time in a long time I've got some fairs coming up where I'll be selling my jewellery rather than my bags, so have spent the past few days topping up my stock to make sure I still have enough!!  Lots of new bracelets and necklaces but I'm really excited about these little vintage brooches, hoping they'll go down well at my fairs!  They each measure 25x18mm, are either silver or gold plated and are just £3.50 each!.  We'll be uploading the pics to my website asap but for now you can view them all on my Facebook page, Lucy's Handmade Designs

Happy New Year

Only 14 days late in saying it, but it's the thought that counts right!!   Hope you all  had a fabulous Christmas and New Year and are now raring to go with new ideas for 2010!

2010 will definitely be bring some new ideas to Lucy's Designs, and whilst I'll still be working on my bags I hope to be able to branch out a little more and have a go at all those things I've wanted to try but not got around to.

Many moons ago (listen to me, I turned 24 yesterday and already I'm speaking as though I'm ancient!) I used to make greetings cards and tags, a little hobby that developed from my love of Brushos, so I'm really wanting to get back into that, it's been far too long since my room was filled with dyes and dirty paintbrushes!!  I sat down earlier and had a little play with some collaging to refresh my memory, thinking it would be like riding a bike..couldn't have been more wrong!  Was fun to have a play but I think I need to stick to my painting!

These hearts were done with watercolours and - to me - are just nowhere near as pleasing as the vividness you get from Brushos, these are too muted for my liking.  I think I'm just far too OCD for collage, I attempt to be random by putting things at angles and not lining everything up, but I promise you you'll never met a person who organises their random as much as I do!

Fabric Flower Brooches

Finally found a few minutes to update, must do this more often!

Thanks to the fabulous people at Artsmix for two great events last week - nothing but hand-made goods available, stunning venue, really can't ask for more!  I also had a really lovely night at the Rams Head in Disley - very Christmassy!

Thought it was about time I posted a piccy of the brooches I do, I really wanted to have things on my stands that could be bought as a "little something" and actually they've proved to be popular.  Each brooch has a different button from the button box making each one slightly different, and they're available in all of the fabrics used for my bags, plus a few more!  Brooches are £4.50 each, drop me an email if you've still got stockings to fill!

Silver Rings

Hidden away on the Portfolio page of http://www.lucys-designs.co.uk/ you'll find this image of my rings, thought it was time to bring them out!!!

Those that know me will know I'm something of an art history geek, and when all things Rococo took over me this is what was produced!  They're all hand-made by me and I still make them to order (and to most designs) so feel free to drop me a line for any more info on them, my piercing saw is starting to feel a little lonely!!
